Dr. Barker really enjoys interacting with patients, medical students, residents, fellows,
nurses and respiratory therapists. He says that he has learned just as much from every one he meets as
they learn from him and goes on to say that he cannot imagine practicing medicine without being involved
in education.
Outside of work Dr. Barker very much enjoys time with his wife, Karen. They enjoy traveling, bed and
breakfasts, and just being together. Dr. Barker feels that South Carolina has the best of all worlds with
four very nice seasons, excellent gardening, great beaches, and small but real mountains. He also enjoys
reading novels and bicycling as well as hanging out with any or all of
his four kids. |
