In this clinic, we see patients with various interstitial
lung diseases and sarcoid lung disease. Patients will get a
thorough work up of their symptoms and therapy will be
planned once diagnosis is made.
|
Patients will get a baseline
pulmonary function test, computerized scan of the chest and
most likely a biopsy to establish diagnosis. Once diagnosis
is established, a therapeutic plan will be discussed with
the patient and consulting physician. This may include
immunosuppressive drugs, oxygen supplementation and
pulmonary rehabilitation. We also work closely with the
Division of Rheumatology (Drs. Fant and Morthala) for cases
involving connective tissue diseases. An example of some of
the diseases include: idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis,
connective tissue disease related lung disease,
hypersensititvity pneumonitis and sarcoidosis.
