Welcome to the
Department of Medicine's Research Unit. Our mission is to
provide the service of facilitating research for the Internal
Medicine faculty.
Currently, we are conducting trials
related to HIV, HIV-associated diarrhea, geriatric care,
hypertension, growth hormone replacement therapy, and diabetes care.

Matthew currently manages
and/or provides support functions for trials within the Divisions of
Endocrinology, Dermatology, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, and General Internal
Medicine. He is the initial contact for new studies and performs all associated
tasks for study start-up. He manages and supervises the conduct of currently
ongoing studies; these responsibilities include conducting subject visits,
maintaining study and subject research records, responding to queries,
performing drug and specimen accountability, and serves as a liason between the
clinic staff and industry sponsors/data management organizations. Matthew can
answer questions from both clinic patients and the general public regarding
questions about current research and possible participation interest.
